$300M Acquisition Closes After Canadian Regulator Gives OK

Shaw Communications closed its $300 million purchase of Mountain Cablevision from the Boris Family.
The company said the Canadian regulator, the CRTC, approved of the transaction on Oct. 22. Shaw paid $120 million in stock and the rest in cash, terms that had not previously been disclosed.
Shaw has 3.4 million subscribers; Mountain has 41,000 video subscribers, 28,000 Internet customers and 27,000 telephone subscribers.
