Setanta Sports Extends Top Rugby Properties Through 2014

Renews Deals For Heineken European Cup, Guinness Premiership, Magners League

Setanta Sports has extended its exclusive U.S. rights to a number of the premier club rugby competitions in the northern hemisphere.
The deals through 2014, terms of which were not disclosed, mark renewals for the Heineken European Cup rugby, the Guinness Premiership from the UK and the Magners League, featuring top teams from Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Setanta's pacts not only ensures continued coverage of these top events in the U.S., but the Caribbean, Australia and Canada as well, according to officials at the programmer.
"We are delighted that we have retained Europe's top rugby once again and be able to bring unrivaled coverage to our subscribers in the United States for the next four years, as we do now" said managing director Roger Hall. "Setanta Sports remains committed to showing the top rugby leagues and competitions in the world to our viewers."
In addition to the aforementioned rugby properties, the premium service features the Tri-Nations, the Six Nations, the Super 14 and the Currie Cup .
Setanta Sports TV most recently launched on Comcast in northern California on channel 300 for $14.99 per month; it's available Santa Clara, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Sonoma County, Livermore, San Mateo and Antioch.
