AMC moves its original-series production from the world of drama into the realm of science fiction with its miniseries The Prisoner.A takeoff on the classic 1960s British series of the same name, The Prisoner stars Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ) as Six, a man who awakes in a desert with no idea where he is or how he got there.
He stumbles onto a dwelling known as "The Village," where inhabitants are known only by numbers and also have no recollection of their past.
Ian McKellen (X-Men, Lord of the Rings) plays Two, the overseer of The Village and Six's primary opposition.
Driven by a quest to understand what's happened to him - as well as a desire to escape - he sets out to uncover the mysteries of The Village.
AMC's take is an acceptable remake but won't make anyone forget about the original.
