Jurado Promoted At BBC Worldwide Unit
Exec Named VP Sales & Distribution, Latin America

BBC Worldwide said Helen Jurado has been promoted to vice president, Sales & Distribution, Latin America, oveseeing multi-platform sales efforts of 50,000-plus hours of programming, as well as digital media and home entertainment in the region.
She continues to report to Matt Forde, EVP, Sales & Co-productions, Americas and had been regional sales director for the BBCW unit.
Jurado will also continue to spearhead BBC Showcase Latin America, held in Rio de Janeiro. The annual event, has become a mainstay for as many as 100 buyers across the region, and has been key in the growing market penetration.
Jurado has been with BBC Worldwide since 1998. She has been responsible for program sales in Central America, South America, English and Spanish speaking Caribbean countries, as well as the U.S. Hispanic market.
BBC Worldwide also said it appointed ZenithOptimedia as its sole global media agency of record. In the U.S. this partnership will deliver media strategies and campaigns for the BBC's diverse businesses such as BBC America, BBC.com and global brands including BBC Earth, Top Gear and Doctor Who, as well as the BBC's U.S. facing newscast BBC World News America.
The appointment of ZenithOptimedia is part of BBC Worldwide's ongoing strategy to reduce its volume of suppliers and develop breakthrough marketing campaigns.
