Fox Business Network Notches Cablevision Carriage

Business Channel Launches Before 3 Million Homes Across Top New York Operator's Footprint

MCN Staff -- Multichannel News, 11/19/2009 2:09:00 PM

Filling in a key hole in its distribution roster, Fox Business Network has inked a carriage contract with Cablevision.
The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, covers some 3 million of the operator's subscribers in the New York DMA. It also puts FBN in front of many affluent homes in and around the nation's financial capital.
With the Thursday Nov. 19 launch on channel 106 and high-definition channel 772 before Cablevision digital subscribers in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, FBN now reaches some 50 million homes.
"We're pleased to welcome Cablevision as our newest Fox Business affiliate and look forward to providing the essential and up-to-the-minute breaking business news to the greater New York area," said Tim Carry, senior vice president of affiliate relations, in a statement.
Added Cablevision senior vice president of product management John Trierweiler: "We are pleased to make Fox Business Network available to our iO TV digital cable customers in both standard definition and HD."
