VH1 is scaring up another season of a horror movie tryout series in 2010.
In Scream Queens 2, the network will take a new group of 10 aspiring actresses and offer the winner a role in the next installment of Lionsgate's Saw franchise. Produced by Lionsgate and Joke Productions, Inc., the series will present the winner with a role in the upcoming Saw 3D.
Tanedra Howard, the first-season winner of Scream Queens, was featured as "Simone" in the "opening trap" scene of Saw VI. Due to her performance and the storyline, Howard is also expected to appear in future Lionsgate productions, according to studio officials.
This season's cast will once again be put through a horror film boot camp with physical challenges, learning how to work with creatures, gore, and stunts, while also building their acting chops. The winning actress will have to prove themselves before a panel of judges -- Jamie King (My Bloody Valentine,The Tripper), Hollywood acting coach John Homa and director Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs, Driftwood).
"Horror films continue to dominate the pop culture landscape and are some of the biggest film franchises out there," said Jeff Olde, executive vice president, original programming and production, VH1, in a statement. "Following the success of last season's winner Tanedra Howard in Saw VI, we're looking forward to working with Lionsgate to find the next great horror actress."
