Detroit Tigers CF Granderson Will Guide Viewers On 'Authentic' Stadium Tour

Authentic Entertainment Developing 'Stadium Secrets' For TV, Web, Mobile

Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 11/20/2009 10:21:48 AM

Detroit Tigers centerfielder Curtis Granderson will take viewers behind the scenes in a number of America's famous stadiums.

Granderson, who has signed an exclusive agreement to develop and host video content for TV, the Internet and mobile devices with Authentic Entertainment Inc. (Food Network's Ace of Cakes, Bravo's Flipping Out).

In its initial foray into sports, which Authentic describes as Cities of the Underworld --another program the company produced for  History-- for sports fans, Stadium Secrets will present an insider's tour of both historic and new venues across the nation.

From the goal line to luxury boxes, Stadium Secrets will examine the legends, the engineering, the cutting-edge technology, and the secrets housed within and underneath these notable edifices. At each location, Granderson will warm up with the home team for some first-hand accounts of local traditions and superstitions, before meeting with officials who will provide unparalleled access.

"Authentic will be providing an exclusive, VIP experience for fans everywhere - a behind-the-scenes journey that will be exciting for all of us. I am eager to begin working on this project and look forward to a successful partnership," said Granderson in a statement.
Helga Eike, vice president of development for Authentic Entertainment, and Joe Cantwell, managing director of Authentic Digital, are overseeing development, which is already underway, of the project.
