We TV Goes To The Altar For A Fourth Time With 'Platinum Weddings'

New Season, Including Fergie, Set For Jan. 3

MCN Staff -- Multichannel News, 11/23/2009 3:25:38 PM

We TV has renewed its original wedding series "Platinum Weddings" for a fourth campaign.
The show will return to the women's-targeted service on Jan. 3 with a pair of back-to-back episodes, beginning at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). This season's guest list includes Fergie, the Black Eyed Peas' lead singer, in the premiere, as well as the daughter of MLB Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn on Jan. 31.
All told, WE has ordered 10 episodes from Film Garden that will air during its Wedding Sunday block, whose original series Bridezillas and My Fair Wedding with David Tutera recently enjoyed their highest-rated seasons.
To complement the series' on-air play and in response to the economy, the network's Web site will provide viewers with expert tips and tricks on how to throw a platinum wedding on a budget at wetv.com/platinumweddings. The site will offer video interviews with wedding experts on how couples can achieve their very own platinum style without a platinum budget. Viewers can also see exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of platinum brides and grooms on their wedding day, enjoy first-hand accounts about the planning of the big day by reading blogs from the brides and grooms, and view exclusive photo galleries.

WE tv will support season four of Platinum Weddings through a marketing campaign highlighted by targeted buys on national television and spot cable, as well as a mix of social media outreach, including alerts and video clips on the network's Facebook fan pages, and updates on Twitter and social video sites.
