AT&T Looking For Exec To Oversee Original Content

Telco Seeks Executive Director Of Original Content and Production

AT&T is seeking an executive to oversee original content development for TV, online and mobile platforms to "distinguish AT&T as an original content provider," according to a job listing posted by the telco.

The executive, to be based in Los Angeles, will "oversee original content development and production for the world's largest communication company," according to the job listing, posted Nov. 11.

The position replaces a vacancy left by a previous team member, according to AT&T spokeswoman Jenny Bridges. "We've been regularly producing original content for a couple of years now, including the 2008 Olympics on Demand content, content for the Masters and other AT&T sponsorships, content for the NAACP 'Evening with the Stars' and more," she wrote in an e-mail.

The executive will report to Dan York, executive vice president of content and programming for AT&T U-verse. Among other duties, the original content director will "identify, develop, negotiate, produce, and manage original content productions, co-productions and advanced content applications for AT&T's multiple entertainment and communications platforms (television, online, mobile and emerging)," the company's job posting said.

In addition to being responsible for determining and executing AT&T's original content strategy, this executive will work on delivering multiplatform content from established content providers including cable networks, studios, sports leagues. independent producers and agencies.

AT&T is seeking someone with more than 10 years of senior management-level content development and production experience as well as "expertise with current and emerging cross-platform technologies, TV production techniques and practices."
