'MNF' Tallies 12.1 Million Viewers With Tennessee's Triumph
ESPN Again Tops All Of TV With Male Demos During Franchise's 40th Season

The Tennessee Titans didn't secure their fourth straight victory until the game's penultimate play, as ESPN took home another victory among male demos with its coverage of Monday Night Football.
Tennessee's 20-17 win over the Houston Texans on Nov. 23 drew an 8.9 rating, 8.8 million households and 12.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen data.
While the contest yielded the third lowest audience of the 12 games thus far during the franchise's 40th season -- the Nov. 16 Cleveland-Baltimore and Sept. 14 San Diego-Oakland games averaged 10.2 million and 11.9 milion, respectively -- MNF still led all of TV, broadcast and cable, among all key male demos and people 18 to 34, according to ESPN officials.
Through 11 weeks and 12 games, ESPN's 2009 MNF presentations have averaged a 10.2 rating, 10.1 million households and just over 14 million watchers, gains of 12%, 14% and 14%, respectively, from last season.
Those totals figure to improve with the Nov. 30 match-up pitting the undefeated New Orleans Saints hosting the popular New England Patriots, which took their own run at NFL perfection in the 2007 season all the way to Super Bowl XLII, when they were upset 17-14 by the New York Giants.
