Can Comcast-NBCU Keep Peace With Itself?
(RE: 3 Reasons to Cheer the Merger, Nov. 16): I just don’t believe mixing content and distribution makes any sense right now. Content companies are embracing alternative distribution channels, whereas the MSOs have a vested interest in monopolizing that distribution. This will be an organization at war with itself.
The only sense I can make of it is that Comcast knows that its distribution business is in decline, and they want to use their stock, while it still has value, to acquire content (which has a lot of upside, in my opinion).

Deal May Drive VOD
(RE: 3 Reasons to Cheer the Merger, Nov. 14): The naysayers of course will cry that this will increase consumer’s costs and claim this is all feels like one big monopoly. However, in my humble opinion this will increase use of VOD, drive more viewers to digital platforms, provide much more advertiser friendly opportunities and bring more consumers to HBO and other pay channels.
