Boyle Belts Out Boffo Nielsens For TV Guide Network

Dec. 13 Debut Is Network's Highest-Rated Special

British singing sensation Susan Boyle played large for TV Guide Network, setting Nielsen marks for a special on the service.
During its premiere on Dec. 13 at 8 p.m., the one-hour I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story averaged 788,500 households and 1.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen data. The show notched a 404% surge among adults 25 to 54 in the time period from the prior year, said network officials.
All told, the debut and an encore immediately following at 9 p.m. drew 4.1 million households and 4.8 million viewers to some part of the telecasts.
TV Guide Network secured the exclusive rights to air I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story amidst the singer's meteoric rise on the U.S. and worldwide music charts. Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed A Dream" (Columbia Records) continues to hold the top spot on the Billboard 200, becoming the fastest selling debut album over a two-week period after release.
I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story will encore this week on TV Guide Network on Dec. 14 at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.(ET/PT); Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.; Dec. 18 at 8 p.m.; and Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.
