Spike Promotes Programming Exec Griffin
New Sr. V.P. Of Programming to Oversee Network Scheduling And Acquisitions

Spike TV Monday said it has promoted programming executive John Griffin
to the position of network senior vice president of programming.
In his new and expanded role, Griffin will continue to oversee all scheduling and media planning as well as its acquisitions as for the male-targeted network, said Spike president Kevin Kay.
Griffin joined Spike TV as vice president, programming in 2005 and has been responsible for numerous high profile acquisitions, including the Star Wars franchise, Entourage, Band Of Brothers, Married With Children, and Unsolved Mysteries. In 2009, Griffin's scheduling resulted in Spike enjoying its highest ratings among its target male 18-49 and Male 18-34 audiences since 2nd Quarter 2006. The network in 2009 was also a top 10 channel in both Primetime and Total Day among Men 18-49, Persons 18-49 and Men 18-34. "We're extremely fortunate to have John at the helm in the critical role of head programmer," said Kay in a statement. "He is a talented executive with a proven track record and is well-respected by our program suppliers. He brings a different perspective and a wealth of programming experience to the job."
