Time Warner Cable Cutting 350 Jobs in Denver

Call Center, National Division Headquarters to Close

by Mike Farrell -- Multichannel News, 1/27/2010 5:10:31 PM

Time Warner Cable said it would cut 350 jobs in the Denver market, closing a call center and its National Division headquarters in the city. The layoffs will begin during the next 90 days and last for several months.
According to a report in the Denver Post, the layoffs represent about 30% of Time Warner Cable's Colorado work force.

The MSO will employ about 800 people in five locations in the state after the closures.

Employees were notified of the cuts Tuesday, according to a Time Warner Cable spokesperson.

"After establishing a regional operating structure, TWC has announced that the employees and cable systems in 15 states that make up the National Division (located in: Alabama, Arizona, Southern California, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia) will be directly aligned with one of Time Warner Cable's regions," Time Warner Cable said in a statement.

"As a result, the National Systems headquarters in Denver and its call center operations will close in the coming months... This announcement takes full advantage of customer care, technical operations and marketing resources within the regional structure which we see enhancing the customer experience as we move the business forward."
