Flanking Syndicated Show, 'Behind The Scenes: Oprah's 25th Season' Will Appear On Her Network Next January

There will be Oprah Winfrey programming on her network when it launches in January.
With the talker The Oprah Winfrey Show set to run until Sept. 9, 2011, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network will air Behind the Scenes: Oprah's 25th Season, a weekly reality show about the production of the final season of the syndicated stalwart. The story was first reported by The New York Times.
As such, a significant question about OWN has been answered: the network will have some Oprah on its air.
The show is similar in its intent to Oprah After the Show, which allowed the star to be on Oxygen, when Winfrey was involved with the women's-targeted network. She ended that allegiance when she opted to pursue the new venture with Discovery Communications, which was first announced in January 2008 and was initially expected to launch in the channel slot occupied by Discovery Health in 2009. Encores of The Oprah Winfrey Show will be available to OWN upon the conclusion of its synidcated run.
"For the first time ever, viewers will get to see behind the curtains of The Oprah Winfrey Show," said OWN CEO Christina Norman in a statement. "Behind The Scenes: Oprah's 25th Season will document what will be the most amazing season, yet."
Additionally, OWN announced that four other programs, with working titles, will join its programming roster:
* Kid-Napped will let kids turn the tables on their workaholic parents, giving them the chance to "kidnap" the offending parent and officially ban them from work, even confiscating their blackberries and cell phones, and spend some quality time together. The one-hour program is a UK format produced by Love Productions;
*Miracle Detectives looks at two investigators, one a believer and the other a skeptical scientist, who travel the earth to uncover answers to mysterious incidents that transcend logic. Speaking to witnesses, authorities, and experts, these investigators will do what it takes to explain what just may be a miracle. This one-hour program is produced by Pilgrim TV and Film;
* Search focuses on renowned search specialist and New Jersey housewife Pam Slaton, who will help three people from diverse backgrounds find someone they love. This one-hour show is produced by Stuart Krasnow
Productions; and
* Sentenced, which is set in a maximum-security women's prison in Rockville, Ind. will track the personal journeys of real-life "women behind bars," including their ties to family and the lives they try to sustain on the outside. This one-hour show is produced by 44 Blue.
Titles previously announced as part of OWN's development roster: Dr. Laura Berman (working title); Master Class (working title); Inside: Lisa Ling Investigates (working title); Open Road (working title, formerly Excellent Adventure); Peter Walsh (working title); and The Swell Life (formerly Surfer's Healing).
