Comcast gave readers of its voices blog a preview of the TV spots it will air in 11 markets tonight during the opening ceremony of the 2010 Olympic Games as part of its Xfinity rebranding efforts.
Voiced over by Mad Men star John Hamm, the spots, which can be viewed here, http://blog.comcast.com/2010/02/xfinity-launches.html are centered on the theme of more choice, more speed and more control of TV, Internet and Phone service. A new web site, www.xfinity.com, also went live earlier today offering more information on the Xfinity service and enabling customers to sign up for service.
Comcast said last week that it would launch the Xfinity initiative in Boston, Philadelphia; Baltimore; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Portland Ore.; Seattle, Hartford, Conn.; Augusta, Ga.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; and parts of the Bay Area and San Francisco.
The campaign is being led by New York ad agency Siegel & Gale (which developed the tru2way campaign) and San Francisco-based ad giant Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (which developed Comcast's "Comcastic" ad campaign).
