TV5Monde, Cox NOLA Launch VOD Channel
French-Language Service Showcases Docs, Travel, Cooking Fare

TV5Monde has debuted its first U.S. video-on-demand channel with Cox's New Orleans cable system.
Positioned on Channel 1635, French-languageTV5Monde will feature documentaries, cooking and travel programming, as well as fare dedicated to Franco culture. TV5 Monde officials said French is spoken in 20% of the households in the New Orleans DMA. The channel carries English subtitles.
VOD user can learn about all aspects of the culture in series such as Gumb-Oh! LÃ ! LÃ ! and Destinations GoÃts, and the service will also feature coverage of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
"We are very proud to see our partnership with TV5Monde expanding once again and to add a vibrant new addition to our VOD offerings that not only entertains and educates, but also celebrates the deep roots French culture has across our system," said Colleen Levy, vice president of marketing of Cox Louisiana, in announcing the launch.
