APTS President Sidman Resigning
John Eggerton -- Multichannel News, 3/15/2010 4:30:00 PM
Larry Sidman, president of the Association of Public Television Stations, is resigning, effective April 1.
No reason was given beyond that he had "professional objectives that are of great importance and urgency."
Sidman has been helping to negotiate a pact with Dish Network for carriage of noncommercial stations' HD signals, an accord that is not yet done.
Am APTS spokeswoman said that the group's board was putting together an ad hoc committee to deal with Sidman's imminent departure, including how do handle the aforementioned negotiations.
Sidman will help out during the transition and stay on as a consultant to APTS on legislative and regulatory matters.
