Comcast-owned Style is adding more TV and entertainment personalities to its lineup with the development of three celebrity-tinged docu-series.Twin sisters Tia and Tamera Mowry, child-star actresses who now are young adults, will be featured in one, officials said. Actress Soleil Moon Frye of 1980s sitcom Punky Brewster will star in another, about her life as a popular online celebrity mom who champions “green” parenting through an environmentally-conscious children’s boutique she co-owns in Los Angeles.
And Spice Girl and Dancing With The Stars participant Mel B gets a show about her efforts to balance a hectic personal life as a wife and mom.
The three series, all yet to be titled, are set to premiere in December or early 2011.
Style president Salaam Coleman Smith says the three new reality series, along with the returning Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, speak to Style’s “Before Meets After” brand, targeted to an 18- to-49 female audience seeking relatable, inspiring and transformational lifestyle programming.
“We’ve had tremendous success with Kimora,” Smith said, and the new shows reinforce Style’s docu-series strength, as well as “the overall network position as a place for transformation programming.”
Other new shows on tap include docu-soap Jerseylicious, about six hair stylists, and home-makeover series Tacky House, an offshoot of Style’s longrunning Clean House.
