`Health Insights' VOD Series Launches With Look At Diabetes

Video On Demand and web-based network HealthiNation Tuesday announced the launch of a new series that will focus on diabetes and other specific health-related conditions.
The series, Health Insights, launches today (March 23) to the network's 28 million VOD subscribers -- as well as online through its website -- will initally focus on diabetes in conjunction with the 22nd annual American Diabetes Association Alert Day, according to network officials. Among the health experts apperaing in the diabetes-focused video is Dr. Derek LeRoith, Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease Development at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and former Chief of the Diabetes Branch at the National Institutes of Health, said the company.
Among the other topics the series will cover include a focus on overactive bladder conditions and asthma. As part of the ongoing series, viewers will be encouraged to submit questions for new episodes on important topics through Facebook and Twitter.
"The concept for Health Insights centers on the idea that if you could get time with an expert on a certain condition, what would you ask?" said Dr. Holly Atkinson, Chief Medical Officer, HealthiNation in a statement. "Our focus has always been on educating and inspiring our viewers to make healthier choices. "With Health Insights we are excited to take it a step further by giving them this unprecedented access to medical professionals."
