Cable Show 2010: It's 'My World' After All
NCTA Showcase Highlights Intersection of Entertainment, Technology

With this year's Cable Show in Los Angeles, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association is going Hollywood with the centerpiece "My World" showcase -- a 27,000-square-foot exhibit built to resemble a movie studio lot.
The NCTA special exhibit is being produced in cooperation with Time Warner Cable, one of the primary cable system operators in L.A. The Cable Show 2010, the NCTA's 59th annual convention, will take place May 11-13 in Los Angeles.

Other companies currently scheduled to participate in the "My World" showcase include: Comcast Cable, Clearwire, Motorola, Cisco Systems, LG Electronics, CommScope, Fox Cable Networks, Exceptional Innovation, Dolby Labs, JBL Systems, ActiveVideo Networks, ESPN/ABC, iFIT, Hewlett Packard, Jinni, Intel and A&E Television Networks.
"My World" is meant to show the "many ways in which cable's innovative content and distribution platform improve the way consumers live, work, and play," according to NCTA. The showcase will include homes, schools, parks and businesses, while a special "red carpet" section will highlight critically acclaimed cable programming.
Demonstrations are to include "TV Everywhere" services, next-generation program guides and user interfaces, 3DTV, DOCSIS 3.0 high-speed broadband and WiMax mobile broadband.
NCTA is planning to provide a mobile application to let attendees use interactive maps on their smartphones to navigate the My World exhibit.
