NAMIC Picks Next-Generation Leaders

Top Honors Go To Time Warner Cable, Turner Executives

NAMIC announced the winners of its 2010 Next Generation Leaders award, led by a Time Warner Cable executive and two executives from Turner Broadcasting System.
The three top recipients are Imani Breaker, VP, Customer Care, New York City Region, Time Warner Cable; David Hudson, VP, Alternative Programming, TNT and TBS, Turner Broadcasting System Inc., and Matthew Hong, senior VP & general manager, Turner Sports, Turner Broadcasting System.
The awards will be presented at the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications annual awards breakfast scheduled for Thursday, May 13, from 7-8:30 a.m., at the new JW Marriott at LA Live! Hotel in Los Angeles. The event is part of Cable Connection -- Spring. For more information about NAMIC and the event, see NAMIC's Web site. Selected by NAMIC and editors of Multichannel News, the Next Generation Leaders Awards recognize up-and-coming executives of color for demonstrating exceptional managerial acumen while embracing NAMIC's mission to educate, advocate and empower for diversity and inclusion in the communications industry.
Awards are presented in three categories: Cable MSO, Cable Programmer and Technology Company or Discipline. Executives of color age 45 and under were eligible for nomination. Breaker (MSO), Hudson (Programmer) and Hong (Technology) were selected from a distinguished group of nominees.
In addition to honoring Breaker, Hudson and Hong, the following executives will be recognized as NAMIC Luminaries: David Arroyo, VP, Legal Affairs, Scripps Networks; Mari Ghuneim, VP, Online Media, Bravo, NBC Universal; Eric Hawkins, SVP, Human Resources, Discovery Communications; Linette S. Hwu, VP, Legal/Commercial Affairs & Operations, Travel Channel Media; Toni Judkins, SVP, Original Programming, TV One; Maelia Macin, VP & general manager, KMEX Univision 34; Kimberly Mathews, VP, Human Resources, Comcast; Catherine Mitchell, VP, Field Service, Cox Communications; Twuanna Munroe, VP, Affiliate Accounting, Scripps Networks, Paul J. Richardson, SVP, Human Resources, ESPN; Sumeet Seam, VP, Legal, Discovery Communications; and Michelle LeCorn Strong, VP, National Accounts, A&E Television Networks.
