HBO Big Winner At Vision Awards

Pay TV Service Wins Four Awards Honoring Multi-Ethnic Original Programming

Home Box Office's drama series The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency helped the pay network win the lion's share of 2010 NAMIC Vision Awards during the organization's annual awards luncheon Thursday in Beverly Hills.
HBO won four Vision Awards, topping the 27 networks and producers and distributors vying for honors in 15 award categories, according to the diversity-tinged organization. The Vision Awards honor the television industry's best multi-ethnic original programming reflecting the rich diversity of the global viewing audience.

Detective agencyThe No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency garnered half of HBO's four awards, including a Best drama performance nod for series star Jill Scott and a shared best drama series recognition with NBC/Universal's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

NBC/Universal Media Studios and Nickelodeon each won two awards during the 16th annual ceremony, which was hosted by actress-comedienne Kym Whitley. Award presenters included Alec Mapa (ABC's Ugly Betty), Wendy Raquel Robinson (BET's The Game) and Jai Rodriguez (The CW's Harvard Medical School), according to the organization.
