The Hub Stocks Up on Series

By MCN Staff -- Multichannel News, 5/24/2010 12:01:00 AM

LOS ANGELES — The Hub has named more than a dozen more series that will be on tap when the kids’ channel launches in 60 million homes on Oct. 10. The channel, coowned by Discovery Communications (contributing Discovery Kids) and toymaker Hasbro, has five Hasbro Studios shows in the mix, including the previously announced Transformers Prime and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.

The newly announced Hasbro shows are live-action game show Family Game Night and the animated G.I. Joe Renegades and Pound Puppies, about a team of fearless dogs finding homes for puppies in need.

Six new originals are in the lineup overall. They include animated Dan Vs.; R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, a liveaction children’s anthology series; and The 99, about a troupe of comic-book superheroes who work together to promote peace and justice.

Shows making U.S. premieres are action-adventure series Animal Mechanicals; CGI-animated Cosmic Quantum Ray; and The WotWots, a preschool series about two soft, puppet-like aliens who come to planet Earth.
