Boccucci, Larsen Round Out ACA's Board Of Directors

Knology, Mediacom Executives Complete 16-Member Panel

Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 7/30/2010 3:10:29 PM

American Cable Association has added two more members to its board of directors.

ACA president and CEO Matt Polka said that Felix Boccucci, vice president of regulatory affairs for Knology, and Thomas  Larsen, group vice president of legal and public affairs for Mediacom, were appointed to open seats on the ACA Board with terms ending in 2011. Boccucci and Larsen were ratified for approval at the panel's third-quarter meeting this week at The Independent Show in Baltimore.

Larsen was elected to fill the ACA board seat previously occupied by Calvin Craib, Mediacom' senior vice president of corporate finance and business development Calvin Craib, "who will be greatly missed by our ACA board," said Polka. Knology joined ACA as a member earlier this year.

"Felix and Tom bring enormous talent and diversity of experience to ACA's board of directors," Polka said in statement. "I know both are committed to providing thoughtful advice and careful judgment that will enable the independent cable community to prosper in a challenging business and regulatory environment."

 ACA's 16-member board is headed by chairman Steve Friedman and vice chairman James Bruder. Both were elected to new two-year terms this week. Friedman is COO of Wave Broadband in Kirkland, Wash., and Bruder is CEO of Harron Communications in Frazer, Penn.

As previously announced, ACA's membership elected the following individuals to the ACA Board for three-year terms.

 Colleen Abdoulah, chairwoman & CEO of WOW! Internet, Cable and Phone, Englewood, Co.;
Patricia Jo Boyers, president of Boycom, Poplar Bluff, Mo.;
Martin Brophy, president and CEO, Shen-Heights TV, Shenandoah, Penn.; and
Robert Gessner, president of Massillon Cable TV, Massillon, Ohio;

The ACA Board also selected its executive committee:

*chairman, Steve Friedman;
*vice chairman, James Bruder;
*treasurer, Martin Brophy;
*immediate past chairman, Patrick Knorr, COO, The World Company/Sunflower Broadband (Non-Voting);
*at-large, Abdoulah; and
*at-large, Terry Nidiffer, vice president of product management, GCI

As treasurer, Brophy replaces Dave Baum of JetBroadband, who stepped down from ACA's board to pursue other business opportunities.

"Our entire board, staff and membership thank Dave for his service, and we wish him the very best," said Polka.
