The upstart RightNetwork has hired two former cable executives as it prepares for its Sept. 8 launch.
The basic cable network that will offer programming from a conservative-leaning perspective, said former Pentagon Channel executive Michael Winneker has been named director of distribution operations, responsible for overseeing network relations with MSOs, small cable operators, telco and online sites, according to network officials. Winneker, formerly distribution manager for the Pentagon Channel, will also oversee the network's VOD operations as well as its marketing strategies.
The network has also hired Uri Weingarten as its senior vice president of digital media, responsible for supervising and directing RightNetwork's online and mobile presence. Weingarten has previously created digital strategies for cable networks like Nickelodeon and The Anime Network along with USA Today.
"As we gather momentum toward launch, Uri will help us build a robust and progressive digital platform and contribute strategic insight across the entire brand, and Michael's wealth of affiliate experience will help us drive distribution through cable, phone and satellite providers," said RightNetwork president and COO Kevin McFeeley in a statement. "Their combined experience is going to help RightNetwork deliver all that's right with the world."
