GCI LossFriends and family are still grieving after tragedy struck Alaskan MSO GCI.
A single-engine plane owned by the company crashed on Aug. 9, killing fi ve of the nine occupants of the aircraft, including GCI executive Dana Tindall; her 16-yearold daughter, Corey; and former U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens.
“Our hearts are with Dana’s family,” GCI CEO Ron Duncan said in a statement. The plane was transporting guests of GCI from its lodge near Lake Aleknagik to a fishing camp also owned by the company.
Gary Traver Exits Comcast Media Center
Gary Traver, senior vice president and chief operating officer at Comcast Media Center, has left CMC and Comcast.
Traver had been with CMC since Comcast acquired it from AT&T in 2002 and was named its COO in 2003.
HBO Promotes Barnett To SVP, Network Business
Melissa Roper Barnett has been named senior vice president, Networks Business Affairs, for Home Box Office, reporting to Tom Woodbury, general counsel and executive vice president, Networks Business Affairs.
Barnett will be responsible for the negotiation of domestic distribution deals for all of HBO’s networks.
