Disney Channel's 'Camp Rock' Sequel Ranks As Cable's Top Telepic In 2010
Lovata, Jonas Brothers-Vehicle, 'The Final Jam,' Draws 8 Million Viewers, More Than 3 Million Tweens, Kids 6-11

Disney Channel started Labor Day weekend off on a high Nielsen note, notching its top telecast of 2010 and cable's top movie performance of the year with the debut of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.The telepic, starring the network's Sonny With a Chance star Demi Lovato and musical/acting group the Jonas Brothers, averaged 8 million viewers on Sept. 3, according to Nielsen fast nationals data. Included in that total were 3.1 million kids 6 to 11 (12.8 rating) and 3.2 million tweens 9 to 14 (13.0 rating).

Disney Channel's Camp Rock 2: The Final JamDespite the increased fame of its stars, the sequel to Camp Rock fell short of its progenitor, which averaged 8.9 million watchers, when it bowed on June 20, 2008.
In the meantime, some of Camp Rock 2's other Friday Nielsen highlights:
*The telefilm ranked as TV's No. 1 Labor Bay weekend telecast among the aforementioned kids demo groups, according to Disney Channel officials;
* In addition to being the network's top performer of 2010 to date, the original movie was TV's No. 1 scripted Friday telecast since the 8.4 million drawn by CBS's Numbers on March 12; and
* The movie pushed Disney Channel to the head of all TV from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., beating its closest broadcast competitor, ABC, by 95% in total viewers, and surpassing Nickelodeon by 539% among kids 6 to 11 (3.1 million, versus 485,000) and by 644% among tweens (3.2 million to 430,000), according to Disney Channel officials.
