CableLabs Certifies Six More DOCSIS 3.0 Devices
Products From Arris, Cisco, Motorola, Netgear, SMC and Thomson in Certification Wave 76

CableLabs has certified six additional customer premises devices for DOCSIS 3.0 -- the cable industry's next-generation broadband specification -- from Arris, Cisco Systems, Motorola, Netgear, SMC and Thomson in certification wave 76 last month.The products are: Arris' Touchstone Telephony Gateway TG852G; Cisco's DPQ3925 wireless residential gateway; Motorola's SBV6240 SurfBoard voice modem; Netgear's CG3000X wireless residential gateway; SMC's SMCD3CMB cable modem; and Thomson's DHG576 gateway.
"DOCSIS 3.0 certification is a key step in bringing to market an IP gateway EMTA [embedded multimedia terminal adapter] that meets the stringent requirements of service providers," Derek Elder, senior vice president of Arris' Broadband Communications Systems group, said in a statement. "Reliability and Wi-Fi performance are key to MSOs managing their operating expenses as they launch these new advanced services."
