Style Net’s Jeannie Mai Hosts LEA Awards Oct. 14
LOS ANGELES — Jeannie Mai, host of Style Network’s How Do I Look?, will emcee the LEA Awards ceremony on Oct. 14, the Southern California Chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications said.

An experienced makeup artist and stylist from San Jose, Calif., Mai (pictured) had worked with celebrities such as Kelly Osbourne, Alicia Keys, and Christina Aguilera before taking the stage herself as a TV host in 2004. She started on the Asian-American magazinestyle show Stir, then became an entertainment reporter and producer for The WB’s Daily Mixx before moving to Los Angeles to host Character Fantasy on the USA Network and MTV’s Granted alongside Frankie Muniz. Since, she has appeared as a popular television host for several networks, in addition to Style, including E!, NBC, MTV, TLC, and Lifetime.

The 2010 LEA Award winners are: Women to Watch, Kristen Cuffee-Brown of Cox Communications and Wendy Gross of NBC Universal; Advocate Leader, Mitchell Christopher of Time Warner Cable; Woman of the Year, Tiff any Lynch of Time Warner Cable; Lifetime Achiever, Lyndsay Lowe of Avail-TVN; and WICT Board Member of the Year, Beth Bayer of Time Warner Cable.

FCC Moves Meeting Date To Nov. 30 From Nov. 4
WASHINGTON — The Federal Communications Commission on Friday moved its public meeting date to Tuesday, Nov. 30, from Thursday, Nov. 4.

A person at the FCC familiar with the decision called it a “scheduling issue.” The date change moves the “white copy” date for informing commissioners about upcoming items until after the Nov. 2 election.

With a meeting scheduled for Oct. 14, the bureaus would have essentially had to circulate the items for the Nov. 4 meeting the same day they were responsible for presenting at the October meeting.
