BIO will premiere a new special about music pioneer Ray Charles in October.
The two hour special, Ray Charles America, will debut Oct. 12 and feature a fresh look at the life, impact and influence of the musical icon, according to the network.
Narrated by David Duchovny, the special commemorates what would have been the late singer's 80th birthday with rare and never-before-seen footage and photos from the Ray Charles Foundation. Included in the special are never before released recordings, a rare interview conducted not long before his passing in 2004.
The specials also include interviews with Clint Eastwood, Bill Cosby, Fran Drescher, Elton John, Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Quincy Jones, Ben Harper, Common, Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, B.B. King, Taylor Hackford, Glen Campbell, Tom Waits and Norman Lear, said the network.
