Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 3/12/2011 8:56:00 AM

Charter has rolled out Multimedios Television on its systems in California, Tennessee and Louisiana.
The MSO's rollout of Mexico's third-largest television network began on March 8 in the Golden State markets of Long Beach, Riverside, San Bernardino, Whittier, San Gabriel Valley, Cerrito and Big Bear, among others.
"We understand the importance of making culturally relevant programming available to our Hispanic customers and Multimedios Television will certainly enhance their viewing experience," said Ester Soria, Charter's marketing manager for multicultural programming in California, in a statement. "This is programming the entire family can and will enjoy."

In Tennessee, Charter launched the service, which features such fare as Meteme Gol (Score Me a Goal) and Mitad y Mitad (The Other Half) in 21 communities in the central and western portions of the state, including Jackson, Columbia, Lawrenceburg and Lewisburg.
Charter subscribers in southern Louisiana can now receive Multimedios TV, in such communities as Hammond, Eunice, Jennings, Opelousas, as well as the New Orleans suburbs of Slidell and Covington.

Deal terms were not disclosed.

"Multimedios is thrilled about the new launches and is extremely pleased to partner with Charter Communications in reaching so many families in California and across the United States," said Gustavo Mena, a former distribution executive at CBS Cable and Telemundo/NBC, who is handling affiliate relations for the Mexican service in the States, in a statement.

Multimedios Television also has affiliate pacts with Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, AT&T U-verse and Verizon Fios.
