Univision Deploys RSG System To Track Contracts
Hispanic Programmer Using RightsLogic to Repurpose Content for Different Channels
MCN Staff -- Multichannel News, 5/4/2011 3:07:33 PM
Univision Communications has implemented RSG Media Systems' RightsLogic program and rights management application to improve how it manages and tracks contract deal terms, obligations and restrictions for all its content worldwide.
According to Univision, RightsLogic is helping the Hispanic programmer identify and repurpose content for different channels by leveraging the rights management application to control contract detail and workflow.
"This new system allows Univision the ability to handle the increasing contractual complexity of third-party created content and expand our ability to monetize new platforms and distribution channels," Univision Interactive Media president Kevin Conroy said in a statment. "Now we can identify what content is available, and when, as well as any usage obligations."
Univision's assets include Univision Network, the most-watched Spanish-language broadcast television network in the U.S., as well as TeleFutura Network, Galavisión, Univision Studios, Univision Local Media, Univision Interactive Media and TuTv, U.S. outlet for pay television channels of Mexico-based Grupo Televisa.
Other customers of New York-based RSG including Discovery Communications, Rainbow Media and MTV Networks.
