Tennis Channel's U.S. Open Distribution Exceeds 50 Million Homes

Lining up expanded partnerships, Tennis Channel will present its 236 hours of U.S. Open coverage to more than 50 million homes over the next couple of weeks.
With DirecTV, Dish Network and AT&T U-verse on board with a free preview, Tennis Channel's sub count will grow from its base of 31 million to past the 50 million mark. A spokesman for the network said DirecTV and AT&T U-verse are making Tennis, which will televise 72 live match hours, including primetime windows on the tourney's first weekend, available to a wider swath of their customers during the network's third year of coverage of the sport's final Grand Slam event
Moreover, DirecTV in partnership with Tennis and ESPN will present its U.S Open Experience to all of its customers at no extra charge. Subscribers to the top DBS provider can watch up to six matches simultaneously, from Aug. 29 through Sept. 5., on its Mix Channel (701).
AT&T U-verse, which is presenting the freeview from Aug. 29 through Sept. 2, will serve up its U.S. Open Multiview interactive TV app during the fortnight from the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens. The telco's subs will be able to choose from Tennis' main broadcast feed, as well as action from five other courts.
