'Must-Attend' Hispanic Summit Attracts A Record 450 Attendees

More than 450 industry people attended the ninth annual Hispanic Television Summit, setting a new mark for the event.
Presented by Multichannel News and B&C, the Sept. 20 conference, held at the Marriott Marquis New York, attracted executives from the ranks of the Hispanic distribution, content, marketing, advertising, programming, research and financial communities. Last year's event counted some 400 attendees.
This year, executives gathered to hear keynote addresses from leaders at State Farm, Univision News, the Telemundo Station Group, ESPN and Post Cereal and Telemundo telenovela star Jencarlos Canela. There were also panels touching on array of subjects, including advertising and audience measurement; content and attendant revenue generation; consumer marketing and promotions; distribution trends, relative to tiering and broader placement; and perspectives from the executive suite.
The event's mid-day highlight saw Monica Gadsby, CEO U.S. Multicultural & Latin America, at Starcom MediaVest Group, honored with the Award for Achievement in Hispanic Television.
"Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News's annual Hispanic TV Summit has really turned into a ‘must-attend' event. The ninth annual Summit attracted an event-high 18 sponsors, with new companies joining long-time supporters," said Louis Hillelson, vice president, group publisher of Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News. "With over 450 executives from all disciplines of the Hispanic professional and business communities, the 2011 Summit also broke its attendance mark. We were well-represented with the key operators, advertisers, ad agencies and programmers within the ever-growing Hispanic marketplace."
With the ninth Summit in the books Hillelson said the staff of the two industry publications will soon turn their attention to initial planning for next year's conference.
"We look forward to presenting an even more robust program for the Summit's 10th anniversary event," he said.
