HBO Sports Drops Puck On Preview Of '24/7 Flyers-Rangers' Docuseries

12-Minute Primer Debuts Nov. 25 Ahead Of Series' Dec. 14 Start

On the day the National Hockey League and NBC Sports Group look to establish a new TV franchise, HBO Sports will begin the promotional push for this year's upcoming Winter Classic.
After succeeding with last year's look at the build-up and the action of the contest between the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins at Heinz Field,HBO Sports will present Preview to 24/7 Flyers/Rangers: Road To The NHL Winter Classic, a 12-minute preview of the upcoming NHL reality series featuring the rivalry between the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Rangers, which is set to air exclusively on HBO.
Debuting Friday, November 25 at 9:15 p.m. (ET/PT), the special will serve as a primer to the acclaimed series for new viewers, as well as an introduction of the players and coaches who will appear on the all-access series as they prepare for the NHL's iconic outdoor game. HBO Sports' high-definition presentation of 24/7 Flyers/Rangers: Road to the Winter Classic faces off on Dec. 14 at 10 p.m. followed by an immediate encore at 11 p.m.
The Flyers and Ranger are coached by Peter Laviolette and John Tortorella, respectively. The teams will meet in the 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Monday, Jan. 2 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
As for Black Friday, NBC will televise the inaugural Discovery NHL Thanksgiving Showdown, showcasing the Detroit Red Wings visiting the defending champion Boston Bruins at TD Garden, at 1 p.m.
Preview to 24/7 Flyers/Rangers: Road to the NHL Winter Classic will air a total of 12 times on the main service plus six times on HBO2. The preview also will be available 24 hours a day at HBO on Demand, starting Nov. 27 as well as on HBO Go.
