Time Warner Cable Brings Live TV To iPhone
Viacom Nets Still Not Available in TWC TV App for In-Home Viewing

Time Warner Cable has launched a version of its TWC TV app for iPhone and iPod touch devices for watching live TV over a wireless home network -- although Viacom's networks remain absent from the nearly 200 channels in the lineup.
The TWC TV app, which originally debuted for the iPad in March 2011, provides access to live TV over a Wi-Fi router, as well as change channels on their set-top box and manage their DVR recordings. The apps are available to download from Apple's iTunes Store for no additional cost to Time Warner Cable video customers with a broadband connection.
The cable operator has said it expects to provide live TV on Android devices, once manufacturers and carriers adopt support for Android 4.0 (code-named Ice Cream Sandwich) sometime this year.
Meanwhile, Time Warner Cable is still negotiating with Viacom to bring its networks to its tablet and smartphone apps.
Viacom sued the MSO last April alleging breach of contract and copyright violation, while TWC sued Viacom seeking a ruling that the cable operator has the rights under its carriage agreement to deliver Viacom's programming to any device in a subscriber's home. In June, Viacom and TWC entered into a "standstill agreement," which put the litigation on hold while they try to reach terms privately.
Cablevision Systems launched a similar iPad app -- and was also hauled into court by Viacom, before they settled the suit for undisclosed terms.
The full lineup of 196 channels currently available on TWC TV (depending on subscription level and location) is posted on the MSO's blog site here.

I dont know what this guy is talking about but the app is great i have tried it and the pic is amazing looks almost if not better that watching on a HDTV, and by the way just becuase twc is not fiber optic to the house doesnt mean they are noy digital, i think you should think first before giving those statements or clarify yourself on your point and they dont mirror the channels if you havent realize one is standard definition for people with old tvs and the other is in high definition.

as far as i know twc isnt digital,i havnt seen any fiber optic cables being installed in my area and to my house for petesakes.so i dont know how twc can claim they are digital when they are not.but not only does twc only have maybe 200 channels, they also mimmicked channels also.for instance several channels down further are also mirrored up further with no difference changing from either channel.who knows why twc mirrors channels taking up all that space for when it can be used for real high definition picture and sound channels
