By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 2/13/2012 10:11:45 AM

ThePlatform, Comcast's online-video management subsidiary, announced the promotion Alex Glass to chief information officer, Marty Roberts to senior vice president of sales and marketing worldwide and Mike Horwitz to senior VP of engineering.

All three execs report to thePlatform co-founder and CEO Ian Blaine.

"Alex, Marty and Mike have made invaluable contributions to thePlatform, our customers, and to the overall video market," Blaine said in a prepared statement. "At a time of significant growth and opportunities domestically and internationally, I am confident their proven expertise will enable us to accelerate our business, as we further expand our partner ecosystem, customers, and geographic deployments worldwide."

Glass, previously vice president of global operations, will now serve in the newly created role of CIO. He will manage business intelligence, security, service availability and worldwide system performance. Prior to joining thePlatform, Glass worked at Paul Allen's DVR company, Digeo, where he worked as a project and program manager.

Roberts, previously VP of sales and marketing, oversees all revenue generation, business development, product management, marketing, public relations and partner programs. Before joining thePlatform, Roberts worked at GiftCertificates.com and RealNetworks.

Horwitz, formerly vice president of engineering, will add development operations to his existing responsibilities for the company's core product development, testing and deployment and operational business intelligence, including capacity planning and metrics monitoring. Previously, Horwitz held senior-level engineering positions at Comcast, including senior director of engineering for Comcast Converged Products.

Other members of thePlatform's senior management team include chief operating officer and chief financial officer Jamie Miller; chief technology officer Alan Ramaley; Simon McGrath, general manager of Europe; and chief legal counsel Tina Santos.

Seattle-based thePlatform publishes video and other media to PCs, mobile devices and TVs, and helps power "TV Everywhere" authentication services for several operators and programmers.
