Gamers Hit Cablevision's Free ITV Service 10 Million Times Monthly
MSO's iO TV Subscribers Play Average Of Six Hours Per Month

Subscribers who play Cablevision Systems' interactive games on TV spend an average of about six hours per month with the free service, which the MSO says is now used more than 10 million times per month.
The interactive game service, available on channel 610 to digital cable subscribers, is provided by ActiveVideo Networks. The 20-plus titles from ActiveVideo's TAG Games group include classic card games like solitaire, chess, word puzzles, Sudoku and kids' games.
Cablevision launched the free ITV games channel in November 2010. Now more than 275,000 of Cablevision's approximately 2.9 million New York-area subscribers play the interactive games per month with about 1.7 million hours of total usage, according to the MSO. On a daily basis, more than 1,000 customers play for the first time.
Several games feature a "house-to-house" mode that allows subs to play live against other iO TV customers. Other features of the service include player profiles to store high scores and achievements, and high scores visible across Cablevision's New York-metro service area.
"We are thrilled that our customers are finding and playing TAG Games on iO TV, and taking advantage of the exciting ability to play live, house-to-house, against other customers," Cablevision vice president of video product management Bradley Feldman said in a statement.

This is great news when you think about adding value to the product in the home. Im sure when it was rolled out it was met with some shrugs but the fact that it is getting some "play" suggests the model is right. The need is there. The innovation is taking flight. Great news for sure!!
