MSG Network will take sports and entertainment fans inside the first phase of the three-year makeover of "the "world's most famous arena" with a five-part series, tipping off on Feb. 19.
With voice narration provided by actor Bill Crudup, The Garden Transformed: Year One, bows on Feb. 19 at 11 p.m., with four new installments following New York Knicks or Rangers game over the course of the week.
MSG Network's cameras have followed every move of the unprecedented project, whose costs could near the $1 billion mark, including the year-round construction, the first of three consecutive off-season shutdowns, and the debut of the first phase of the transformation for the New York Rangers' home opener in October 2011.
During the series, viewers, including Time Warner Cable subscribers who can again watch MSG and sister service MSG Plus, following the Feb. 17 resolution of a 48-day license fee dispute, will witness everything from the removal of the venue's seats to the construction of the new Knicks and Rangers locker rooms to the behind-the-scenes on the expansion of the 6th Floor concourse.

The first phase of the transformation included a completely new lower bowl seating area with larger, more comfortable seats; an expanded Madison Concourse (6th Floor) featuring many new amenities and food options, including the MSG Signature Collection; the Delta Sky360° Club and 1879 Club Presented by J.P. Morgan; viewing areas on the 8th Floor and the West Balcony (10th Floor) with new amenities and direct views into the Arena bowl; and the new state-of-the-art Knicks and Rangers locker rooms and star dressing rooms. . There are also interviews with celebrities after they saw the first-round of changes.

"MSG Network viewers will have front row seats and behind-the-scenes access for the first phase of the transformation of the world's most famous arena," said Dan Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager, MSG Networks, in announcing the series. "Our cameras have had exclusive access from the beginning of the project and we're excited to be able to share those images with our audience."
