Conexant Chip Addresses DVR

Chip-maker Conexant Systems Inc. is debuting a new decoder chip set that supports digital-video-recording applications inside HDTV set-tops across the direct-broadcast satellite and cable markets.
The company's “CX2417X” decoders can be used in conjunction with its satellite tuners and demodulators. The new chip sets are compatible with middleware platforms including Canal Plus Technologies’ “MediaHighway,” OpenTV Inc., OpenCable Application Platform and Multimedia Home Platform.
