Microsoft Corp. has tapped a familiar cable face to help it sell Microsoft TV.

The software giant named Tom Fritzley vice president of sales and service, where he'll oversee sales, business-development and customer-support activities for Microsoft TV Interactive Program Guide and associated products.

Fritzley was the former president and CEO of Ceon Corp., and he also held executive positions at Tellabs Inc. and GTE Corp.

He will report to Moshe Lichtman, corporate VP of the division, which includes general manager of marketing Alan Yates and chief technology officer Peter Barrett.
