ANA Creates Ethnic Excellence Awards

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 6/5/2001 7:03:00 AM

The Association of National Advertisers announced the 'Multicultural Excellence Awards' Tuesday, designed to honor 'outstanding advertising targeted to multicultural consumers' in any media.

The ANA's Multicultural Marketing Committee will examine entries in five categories -- those targeting African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, the general market and other multicultural segments, such as Native Americans, Russians, Polish, etc.

Companies must submit three ads per campaign 'to demonstrate the scope of their work,' the association said. Campaigns must have run for at least three months between June 2000 and May 2001.

Entry forms are available via the organization's Web site.

Entries, with $500-per-entry fees, must be received by Aug. 15. The winners will be presented during the ANA's annual Multicultural Marketing Conference Nov. 4 through 6 in Key Biscayne, Fla.
