Dallas-WideOpenWest LLC was granted a 15-year cable franchise last week by the city of Irving, Texas, the second community in the Dallas Metroplex to reach an agreement with the Colorado-based start-up.
Under the agreement, WOW will offer cable and high-speed Internet access, as well as local and long-distance telephone services, to 78,000 households in the Dallas suburb.
It will compete against AT & T Broadband, which currently controls the local cable market.
