Stamford, Conn.-Time Warner Cable said last Wednesday that it has launched "Time Warner Digital Cable" in five Minneapolis suburbs: Eden Prarie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Richfield.

The MSO also plans to bring digital-cable service to Bloomington by June 2 and to St. Louis Park by June 16.

Additional Twin Cities markets set to launch digital cable this year are Carver, Chaska, Fridley, Shakopee and Minneapolis. The local system upgrade should be completed sometime next year.

In other Time Warner news, ValueVision International Inc. said last Thursday that the MSO has agreed to expand carriage of the home shopping channel by 5 million households.
