Viacom Yanks Signals From Galaxy Cable

Austin, Texas - In a dispute over fees, Viacom Inc. has pulled several of its channels from small MSO Galaxy Cable.

While neither side would reveal specifics of the dispute, sources close to the situation said the 85,000-subscriber MSO had failed to keep up with payments for services, including MTV: Music Television, VH1, TNN: The National Network and Country Music Television.

The first published report about the dispute cited an increase in TNN's licensing fee, but an MTV spokeswoman said Viacom's actions "had nothing to do" with the cost of the network, which Viacom hopes to rename Spike TV.

Anchor Pacific CEO Ron Dorchester, whose firm manages Galaxy, declined comment.
