HDNet and HorseRacing TV announced an agreement Friday to launch, produce and distribute a high-definition series.
The HDNet Horse Racing Challenge brings together a day at the races, a special contest and background stories about its nine participants.
The weekly two-hour show will cover a full day of racing, as well as the challenge between three groups of contestants: three trainers, three jockeys and three wagerers.
HDNet will follow each group throughout the week as they prepare for the races and
share their own stories on the sport of horse racing. At the end of the series, winners of the three categories will each receive an "HDNet Trophy Cup" and a high-definition television.
The five-week series will originate from Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, beginning Sunday, June 15 at 8 p.m. EST and airing each Sunday night at the same time for the duration of the Lone Star thoroughbred meet, which concludes July 13.
