The National Cable & Telecommunications Association is issuing a call for engineering white papers for Cable 2002, set for May 5 through 8 in New Orleans.
The deadline for the papers is Dec. 10. Topics of interest include advancements in digital- and optical-broadband technology, particularly broadband-server architecture; national-scale distributed computer networking; transactional bandwidth management; networked-home technology; and other advanced broadband technology topics.
Product pitches and works already published elsewhere will not be considered, but individuals or companies may submit more than one paper.
An NCTA panel will judge the submissions. Selected authors must create camera-ready manuscripts by March 4 and must be prepared to give 15- to 20-minute oral presentations at the convention.
Submission forms are available at cable2002.com under the 'Call for Papers' link. Proposals may also be faxed or mailed to Mark Bell, director of administrative services, NCTA, 1724 Massachusetts Avenue N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036-1969; fax 202-775-1098; or electronic mail mbell@necta.com.
