SCTE Chapters Set Membership Mark

The chapters of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers finished their "2002 Member-Get-A-Member (MGM) Campaign" with 650 recruits, easily topping its goal and shattering the annual program's old record.

MGM, which took place Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, pitted the SCTE's 70 chapters against one another to see which could round up the most new members and certification enrollees.

December alone accounted for more than 50 percent of the campaign's recruitment total of 650, which exceeded its goal of 550 by 100 recruits. The old record, set last year, was 555.

The Bonneville Chapter, based in Salt Lake City, hauled in 146 recruits to take first place.
