Lott to Appear on BET Tonight

Just days after Black Entertainment Television said it would lay off 40 staffers and replace some news and public-affairs shows with entertainment fare, the network's news department landed one of its biggest exclusives.

Embattled Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) will sit down with BET's Ed Gordon for a one-hour interview Monday at 8 p.m.

Gordon's BET Tonight is one of the programs the network plans to ax.
